2019 SDGA Senior & Super Senior Stroke Play Championship

Terms of the Competition

 

ENTRY FEE

The entry fee is $75. This includes two rounds with golf, lunch after Monday's round, prizes, and awards (carts and range are not included).

 

ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

• Membership: Players must be a member of the SDGA, by (1) belonging to an SDGA member club or (2) joining as a 2019 SDGA Associate Member ($100 fee).
• Age (Seniors): Players must be at least 55 years old as of June 2, 2019.
• Age (Super Seniors): Players must be at least 65 years old as of June 2, 2019.
• USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an active USGA Handicap Index issued through a licensed golf club of no more than 12.0 and 15.0 for the Senior and Super senior divisions, respectively.

 

FIELD SIZE AND WAIT LIST

The field is limited to the first 65 players to apply. After the field limit is reached, players will be placed on a wait list in order by their time of registration.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

• Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
• Deadline: The deadline to submit entries is Tuesday, May 28th, 2019 at 5:00pm.
• Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $20 service fee, will be refunded if a player withdraws 24 hours prior to the start of the event.

 

FORMAT

The format is 36 holes of individual stroke play (no cut).

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Sunday, June 2 // Round 1 // Tee times begin at 12:30pm

Monday, June 3 // Round 2 // Tee times begin at 9:00am*

 

*Round 2 tee times are based off score (highest start first).

 

PRACTICE ROUNDS

Practice rounds are available at Cazenovia CC. Prices are as follows: $25 to walk and $42 with a cart.

PLAYER LUNCH ON MONDAY

A complimentary lunch is provided to players following Monday's final round.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The club's restaurant will be open.

 

GOLF CARTS

The golf cart rental fee is $20 per player, payable in the pro shop (cash or credit).

 

RANGE

The range ball fee is $5 per bucket.

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winners.

 

PRIZES

Gift certificates to the host club pro shop will be awarded to approximately 1/4 of each division.

 

SOVIK CUP AND SUPER SENIOR POY POINTS

Sovik Cup points will be awarded to the top-20 finishers in the Senior division. Super Senior Player of the Year points will be awarded to 1/2 of the field.
