2020 SDGA Senior Best-Ball Championship

Terms of the Competition

 

ENTRY FEE

The entry fee is $150 per team. This includes two rounds with golf, access to the club's range,  lunch after Monday's round, prizes and awards(carts are not included).
 

ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to teams consisting of two male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

  • Membership: Players must be a member of the SDGA, by (1) belonging to an SDGA member club or (2) joining as a 2020 SDGA Associate Member ($100 fee).

  • Age: Players must be at least 55 years old as of August 23, 2020

  • USGA Handicap Index: Entrants must have an active USGA Handicap Index issued through a licensed golf club.

 

FIELD SIZE AND WAIT LIST

The field is limited to the first 34 teams to apply. After the field limit is reached, teams will be placed on a wait list in order by their time of registration

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Deadline: The deadline to submit entries is Tuesday, August 18, 2020, at 5:00pm.

  • Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $20 service fee, will be refunded if a team withdraws 24 hours prior to the start of the event.

 

FORMAT AND DIVISIONS

The format is 36 holes of best-ball (referred to as four-ball under the Rules of Golf). There is no cut. There are two divisions; Senior (55+) and Super Senior (65+). Play will be from approximately 6,100 yards (White Tees) for the senior division and 5,700 (Gold Tees) for the super senior division.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Sunday, August 23 // Round 1 // Tee times start 12:30pm

Monday, August 24 // Round 2 // Tee times start 10:00am. High scores first.

 

GOLF CARTS

The golf cart rental fee is $20 per player, payable in the pro shop (cash or charge w/4% fee).

 

RANGE

The use of the driving range is included in the entry fee.

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winners.

 

PRIZES

Gift certificates will be awarded to approximately the top-8 teams in the Senior division and the top-3 teams in the Super Senior division.

 

PLAYER LUNCH ON MONDAY

Player's will receive a complimentary lunch following Monday's final round.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The club's snack bar and bar will be available.

 

PRACTICE ROUND

Practice rounds are available for $25 including cart. Weekday only. You must be officially entered in the tournament and call the pro shop in advance for a tee time. 315-343-1941.
