2022 SDGA District Junior Match Play Championship

Terms of the Competition

 ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to all junior golfers (boys and girls) within the SDGA region who are 18 years old or younger as of July 5, 2022. who meet the following requirements:

  • Membership: All players must have an active USGA Handicap Index at an SDGA Member Club or reside within the SDGA territory (Onondaga, Cortland, Cayuga, Madison, Oswego, Oneida, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne County east of Route 14) and have an active GHIN Handicap through the NYSGA eClub of Central New York (Free for Juniors). 

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Entry Fee: $50. This includes all green fees and awards.

  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Tuesday, July 12, 2022). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $20 service fee, will be refunded if a player withdraws 24 hours prior to the start of the event. 

 

FORMAT

The format for the Junior District Championship is as followed. First round will be played as an individual stroke play qualifier, where players compete in one of two divisions: Junior (15-18 years old) or Boys Division (14 and under). Girls will have one Division. Match play will follow stroke play qualifying, where the top-16 juniors and top-8 boys compete for their respective titles. The top 16 girls will compete for their respective title.  Any player not qualifying for the championship brackets will be placed into flight brackets to compete for prizes. Wednesday- (Drumlins East), Juniors will play from the Blue Tees, Sub Juniors from the White Tees and the Girls Division will play from the Gold Tees.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

AM Rounds Junior Semis (2), Junior II Finals (1), Girls Finals (1), Sub Junior Finals (1) in twosomes, PM Round- Junior Finals (1)

 

CADDIES

The use of caddies is permitted. Caddies must be under 21 years old and may not be related to the player.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

There is no food included with this tournament.

 

GOLF CARTS

The use of a golf cart is not permitted. Push carts are approved.

 

RANGE

Pay for balls in the Pro Shop

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winners. Gift certificates to the host club pro shop will be awarded.
