TERMS OF THE COMPETITION


ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to junior boys and girls who meet the following requirements:

  • Membership: All players must have an active USGA Handicap Index at an SDGA Member Club or reside within the SDGA territory (Onondaga, Cortland, Cayuga, Madison, Oswego, Oneida, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne County east of Route 14) and have an active GHIN Handicap through the NYSGA eClub of Central New York (Free for Juniors).

  • Age: Players must be 18 or younger as of July 11, 2023

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Entry Fee: $60. This includes all green fees and awards.

  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Wednesday, July 5, 2023). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Refund Policy: The entry fee, less a $20 service fee, will be refunded if a player withdraws 24 hours prior to the start of the event.

 

FORMAT, DIVISIONS & TEES

The format is 36 holes at stroke play (no cut), played in 18-hole rounds at two different courses (Rogues Roost East & Oneida Community GC). Players compete in the following divisions from the listed tees:

  • Boys' Junior (ages 15-18)

    • Rogues Roost: Blue Tees (6,500 yards)

    • Oneida Community GC: Blue Tees (6,406 yards)

  • Boys' Sub-Junior (ages 14 & under)

    • Rogues Roost: White Tees (6,000 yards)

    • Oneida Community GC: White Tees (6,161 yards)

  • Girls' Junior (ages 18 & under)

    • Rogues Roost: Red Tees (5,394 yards)

    • Oneida Community GC: Gold Tees (5,513 yards)

 

RANKINGS

The 2023 SDGA Junior Classic is a Junior Golf Scoreboard & Global Junior Golf Rankings ranked event.

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

Tuesday, July 11 // Round 1 at Rogues Roost East // Tee times begin at 10:00am
Wednesday, July 12 // Round 2 at Oneida Community GC // Tee times begin at 10:00am

 

TEE TIME REQUESTS
The SDGA will make every effort to accommodate tee time requests, which must be submitted no later than 12PM on Wednesday, July 5th (click here). Pairing requests will not be accepted.

 

CADDIES

The use of caddies is permitted, but they must be under 21 years old and may not be related to the player.

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

There is no food included with this tournament.

 

GOLF CARTS

The use of a golf cart is not permitted. Push carts are approved.

 

RANGE

Varies by course. 

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winners.
