TERMS OF THE COMPETITION
ELIGIBILITY
This championship is open to teams consisting of two male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

Membership: Players must hold an active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index at a 2026 SDGA Member Club or be a member of the NYSGA eClub - Central NY (Counties: Onondaga, Cortland, Cayuga, Madison, Oswego, Oneida, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne County east of Route 14 ). NYSGA eClub - Watertown (Counties: Jefferson & Lewis). NYSGA eClub - Adirondacks (Counties: St. Lawrence).

Age: Players must be at least 14 years old as of June 26, 2026.

USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an active USGA Handicap Index, issued by their member club, of 8.4 or less.
FIELD SIZE AND WAITLIST
- Field Size: 84 players
- Determining Field & Waitlist Procedure: Registration for this Championship is NOT on a first come, first served basis. The field is selected "low-to-high", based on the player's combined Handicap Index as of the entry close date. A player's entry will be added to the Championship's pending registration field and their credit card will not be charged. When entries close on June 19th, all players will be ordered by their current Handicap Index by low-to-high. The 84 player's with the lowest Handicap Index will then be approved by charging their credit card the full entry fee. Approved player's will immediately receive an email confirmation confirming their spot in the Championship.
- Waitlisted Players: Any player that that does not earn a spot in the field will be placed on a waitlist ordered by their Handicap Index and notified of their status and order by email.
ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

Entry Fee: $135. This includes all green fees, tee gifts, prizes, and awards.

Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Friday, June 19, 2026). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

Refund Policy:

Withdrawal PRIOR TO entry deadline: Entry fee less $20

Withdrawal AFTER entry deadline: Entry fee less $50

Withdrawal WITHIN 2 DAYS of the competition: No Refund

FORMAT
The format is 54 holes at stroke play, with a cut after 18 holes (low 50 players and ties) and after 36 holes (low 32 players and ties).
RANKINGS
The 2026 SDGA Gerry Ashe Memorial is ranked by World Amateur Golf Ranking & Team New York .

EXEMPTIONS
The winner of the 2026 SDGA Gerry Ashe Memorial will be exempt into the 2026 NYS Men's Amateur Championship & 2026 NYS Men's Mid-Amateur Championship (if age eligible*).

RULES
All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will have volunteer Rules Officials on the course to provide rulings and answer questions.

*Round 2 and 3 tee times/pairings are based off score (highest start first)
TEE TIME REQUESTS
The SDGA will make every effort to accommodate tee time requests, which must be submitted no later than 12PM on Friday, June 19th (click here). Pairing requests will not be accepted.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
$50 - please contact pro shop to schedule
FOOD & BEVERAGE
There are no meals included with this event. The club's snack bar will be open.
GOLF CARTS
The golf cart rental fee is $20 per player, payable in the pro shop. The NYSGA's one-seat policy will be in effect.
RANGE
Included with entry.
