TERMS OF THE COMPETITION
ELIGIBILITY
This championship is open to teams consisting of two male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

Membership: Players must hold an active USGA/GHIN Handicap Index at a 2026 SDGA Member Club or be a member of the NYSGA eClub - Central NY (Counties: Onondaga, Cortland, Cayuga, Madison, Oswego, Oneida, Seneca, Tompkins, and Wayne County east of Route 14 ). NYSGA eClub - Watertown (Counties: Jefferson & Lewis). NYSGA eClub - Adirondacks (Counties: St. Lawrence). All eClub memberships are FREE for Juniors

Age 18U: Be at least 15 years old as of July 13, 2026.

Age 14U: Be 14 or younger as of July 13, 2026.

USGA Handicap Index: In order to be eligible for this years championship you must have an active USGA Handicap Index at or below the following:

Boys 18U: 15.0 max

Boys 14U: 22.0 max

Girls 18U: 22.0 max

Note: A junior can play in older age divisions if their USGA Handicap Index is 5.0 or less - emaill jcorcoran@nysga.org prior to the entry deadline to change divisions.
FIELD SIZE & WAITLIST
- Field Size: 60 players.
- Determining Field & Waitlist Procedure: Registration for this Championship is NOT on a first come, first served basis. The field is selected "low-to-high", based on the player's combined Handicap Index as of the entry close date. A player's entry will be added to the Championship's pending registration field. When entries close on July 8th, all players in each division will be ordered by their current Handicap Index by low-to-high. The player's in each division with the lowest Handicap Index, based on division size (above), will then be approved. Approved player's will immediately receive an email confirmation confirming their spot in the Championship.
- Waitlisted Players: Any player that that does not earn a spot in the field will be placed on a waitlist ordered by their Handicap Index and notified of their status and order by email.
ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

Entries: An entry must be submitted online prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

Entry Fee: FREE... courtesy of donations from Greg Natale and other Syracuse area golfers.

Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Wednesday, July 8, 2026). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.
FORMAT
- Qualifying Round: The first round is an individual stroke play qualifier with players competing in one of three divisions: Boys 18U (15-18 years old), Boys 14U (14 & Under), and Girls 18U (18 & Under).
- Match Play: The top players advance from the qualifier to match play. Any ties for the last spot will be broken using the USGA recommended method of matching scorecards.
- Boys 18U: Top-16
- Boys 14U: Top-8
- Girls 18U: Top-16
RULES
All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. All players are provided with a rules sheet before each round. Rules Officials will be on the course and available to answer questions - please call the number of the scorecard for help.

Wednesday, July 15 // Match Play Rounds, Drumlins East // 8:00am-8:40am and 12:00pm* (Approx. based on morning round finish)
TEE TIME REQUESTS
The SDGA will make every effort to accommodate tee time requests for the qualifying round. Requests must be submitted no later than 12PM on Wednesday, July 8th (click here). Pairing requests will not be accepted.
RANKINGS
The 2026 SDGA Junior District Match Play Championship is ranked by World Amateur Golf Ranking (WAGR), Junior Golf Scoreboard & Team New York

EXEMPTIONS
The winner and runner-up of the Boys & Girls 18U Division will be exempt into the 2027 NYS Boys & Girls 18U Junior Amateur Championship.
CADDIES
The use of caddies is permitted, they must be under 21 years old and may not be related to the player.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
There is no food included with this tournament. The club's restaurant will be open and accept cash/credit as payment options.
GOLF CARTS & PUSH CARTS
The use of a golf cart is not permitted. Push carts are approved.
RANGE
Available for purchase in pro shop.
AWARDS
Trophies will be awarded to the winners. $2,000 in pro shop credit will be awarded out to the top finishers in each division.
