TERMS OF THE COMPETITION


ELIGIBILITY

This championship is open to teams consisting of two male amateur golfers who meet the following requirements:

  • Age: Players must be at least 25 years old as of August 22, 2026.

  • USGA Handicap Index: Players must have an active USGA Handicap Index of no more than 8.4

 

FIELD SIZE AND WAITLIST

  • Field Size: 40 players
  • Determining Field & Waitlist Procedure: Registration for this Championship is NOT on a first come, first served basis. The field is selected "low-to-high", based on the player's combined Handicap Index as of the entry close date. A player's entry will be added to the Championship's pending registration field and their credit card will not be charged. When entries close on August 17th, all players will be ordered by their current Handicap Index by low-to-high. The 40 player's with the lowest Handicap Index will then be approved by charging their credit card the full entry fee. Approved player's will immediately receive an email confirmation confirming their spot in the Championship.
  • Waitlisted Players: Any player that that does not earn a spot in the field will be placed on a waitlist ordered by their Handicap Index and notified of their status and order by email.

 

ENTRIES, DEADLINE, AND REFUND POLICY

  • Entries: An entry must be submitted online with payment prior to the deadline. Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Entry Fee: $120. This includes two rounds with golf, carts and lunch after Sunday's round, prizes, and awards.

  • Deadline: Entries must be received prior to the deadline (12PM EST on Monday, August 17, 2026). Late entries will not be accepted, regardless of reason.

  • Refund Policy:

    • Withdrawal PRIOR TO entry deadline: Entry fee less $20

    • Withdrawal AFTER entry deadline: Entry fee less $50

    • Withdrawal WITHIN 2 DAYS of the competition: No Refund

 

FORMAT

  • Format: The format is 36 holes of individual stroke play (no cut).
  • Yardage: The course will be set up to play approximately 6,500 yards

 

RULES

All play will be governed by the USGA Rules of Golf. Players will be provided a "Notice to Players" rules sheet containing local rules and conditions. The SDGA will provide access to a certified USGA Rules Official to provide rulings and answer questions.  

 

SCHEDULE OF EVENTS

Saturday, August 22 // Round 1 // Tee times begin 12:00pm
Sunday, August 23 // Round 2 // Tee times begin 12:00pm 
 
*Round 2 tee times are based on score (highest start first).

 

EXEMPTIONS

The winner of the 2026 SDGA Mid-Amateur will be exempt into the 2026 NYS Men's Mid-Amateur.

 

                                                                                                                                                                            

 

TEE TIME REQUESTS
The SDGA will make every effort to accommodate tee time requests, which must be submitted no later than 12PM on Monday, August 17th (
click here). Pairing requests will not be accepted.

PLAYER LUNCH

A complimentary lunch ticket will be provided to players on Sunday. 

 

FOOD & BEVERAGE

The club's restaurant will be open. Credit card and cash accepted.

 

GOLF CARTS

The golf cart rental fee is included in the entry fee. The NYSGA's one-seat policy will be in effect

 

RANGE

Access to the range is provided complements of Lakeshore Y&CC.

 

AWARDS

Trophies will be awarded to the winners. Pro shop credit will be awarded out to top finishers.
